Join the Members-Only Listserv!
Late last year your AFP Chapter launched its own members-only listserv. Introduced as a member benefit,the listserv is a great way to bounce ideas off your colleagues, ask about a local resource, find out how to book a new gift, or make a vendor inquiry.
Most of all, it provides you with immediate access to the collective knowledge and experience of more than 200 of your colleagues right here in Western New York. That in and of itself can not be topped!
Recent topics have included questions on grants consultants and foundation research services.
Here is how it works. First, register online at:
Then choose how you’d like to participate in the forum – you can (1) get every message as an individual E-mail, (2) get your messages grouped together 25 at a time in an E-mail digest, or (3) avoid the extra messages in your in-box altogether and simply return to the website regularly to read the latest posts and correspond online.The list is moderated, but not censored, by members of the Chapter’s membership committee. The rules of conduct are simple. No spam, no sending of messages promising that Bill Gates will give folks lots of money if they forward the E-mail message to seven other people, and try to focus discussion on fundraising, not the latest local political scandal or sports highlight. If you’d like to post a job opening, please use the Chapter’s Executive Referral service. Lastly, there is no solicitation, whether you’re pitching candy bars for your child’s school or selling services of some type. (The Chapter's Every Member Campaign doesn't count!) As always, standard rules of civility apply. The moderators have the ability to revoke listserv membership should the list be abused in any way.
The site also allows us to conduct polls, keep databases, and share links! Check it out and feel free to ask the moderators questions or offer suggestions on how to best improve the service.
